MEET RUI

Your social media manager & digital marketer

Hello, I’m Rui.

I’m a social media manager, digital marketer, and dancer based in Brisbane and Japan.

With over 20 years of experience in dance and performance, I now combine my creative background with media communication to help emerging dancers gain recognition and grow their presence online.

I believe dancers deserve stronger digital marketing to gain recognition in today’s globalized world.

As a dancer myself, I’ve experienced how movement can bridge cultures and connect people beyond language. Through digital platforms, our dance can become a universal language that inspires global connection and promotes cultural exchange.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO

to empower emerging dancers through digital storytelling and help them gain recogniTion

As a dancer myself, I know the struggles of getting recognition as an emerging dancer.

In today’s world, your social media and online presence have become your digital CV — it’s where opportunities begin, and where people go to see who you are as a performer.

My strength lies in creating personalised social media management and strategy that goes far beyond just promotion. I don’t simply manage accounts — I listen to each dancer’s story, understand their genre, artistic identity, and career goals, and help them express that through their digital presence.

Every dancer is different, and so are their paths. That’s why I build tailored strategies that reflect who they truly are and where they want to go.

My goal is to help dancers connect with audiences, showcase their artistry authentically, and open new doors in their careers. There are many social media managers out there — but very few who truly understand the world of emerging dancers from the inside. That’s what makes my approach unique.

My dance journey

I started dancing when I was 6, at my mom’s friend’s small dance studio in our neighborhood with my friends.
Dancing quickly became one of my favorite things to do, and I always looked forward to my dance classes twice a week. They were the best days of the week for me.

When I was 15, I moved to a bigger dance studio to push myself and explore new styles like Hip Hop, Jazz, Jazz Funk, Heels, Commercial, and Ballet. Along the way, I met so many inspiring dancers and got to perform on stage with them at countless events and showcases.

Now, I’ve trained in Japan, LA, and Australia, continuing to expand my opportunities as a dancer.
I’ve had the chance to work as a backup dancer for a Japanese singer, and also joined an Australian dance crew as a backup dancer for their mega crew mission on a famous Korean dance competition show.
